Riederalp

Riederalp is close to the Aletsch Glacier, the jewel of the UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in the Swiss Alps Jungrau-Aletsch. The Victorian Villa Cassel – serving as "Pro Natura" environmental preservation organisation’s information centre – can be reached on foot in 30 minutes. The Aletsch Arena consisting of the three Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp villages is a major winter sports and hiking area. It also includes Europe’s highest nine-hole golf course (directly in Riederalp village), nearly endless bike trails, as well as a pedestrian suspension bridge above the Mass Gorge between Riederalp and Belalp.
