Valais cheese

In Valais, cheese is an art form. Using the fragrant milk from livestock contentedly grazing in the mountain pastures and lush fields, master cheesemakers with age-old know-how produce cheeses that reflect the taste of the mountains. Soft, semi-hard or hard and made from cows’ milk, goats’ milk or ewes’ milk, Valais-brand cheeses are produced using Valais milk and each one has its own specific character. However, they do all have something in common: 75% of the animals’ fodder must come from the farm where the milk is produced and integrated production or organic farming methods must be used. Furthermore, the cheeses are all transformed, matured and packaged in Valais.
