Originally a small settlement of mountain huts and barns, La Fouly has been a year-round community since only 1965, when the access road began to be cleared in winter. The Val Ferret is an outstanding hiking region, with views to well-known peaks like the Dolent, Tour noir and Aiguille d’Argentière. It is also a stage of the celebrated Tour du Mont Blanc trek and the newer but equally stunning Tour du Saint Bernard. Visitors can experience the unadulterated beauty of the mountain world here. For those who wish an alternative to a hotel can spend the night sleeping on straw.
