The village of Collonges is located in the French-speaking part of Valais in the district of St-Maurice. One of the few large wind power plants in Switzerland is located south of Collonges. Thanks to these plants, Collonges is the basis for an annual production of just over 420 million KWh. To the north, walkers can discover a beautiful chestnut forest. On the heights of Collonges, the Alpe "Au d'Arbignon overlooks the valley and on the Alpe Plex, at 1250 m, there is the Maraîche de Plex nature reserve, which is listed in the federal inventory of raised bogs. The original location of the area in a special depression offers visitors a gentle transition from the wooded pasture to the dense coniferous forest that extends to the foot of the basin.
