The Langgletscher

The forefield of the Langgletscher is easily accessible and has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The “See & understand“ theme path provides insight into the climate and landscape of glaciers, ever changing over the course of time with the effects of nature and humans. Along a total of 23 stations, the nature trail tells the history of the formation of this impressive mountain landscape of the Langgletscher. There are three routes to choose from. Routes: 1) Stations 1-23, length 13 km, elevation difference 713m, hiking time 4 hrs 45 min. This trail can also be hiked over two days. 2) Stations 1-14 and 19-23, length 10.4 km, elevation difference 460m, hiking time 3 hrs 30 min. 3) Stations 1-14, length 8.4 km, elevation difference 300m, hiking time 2 hrs 45 min.
