Thermal baths

Bubbling up from natural springs, it is significantly warmer than conventional ground water and enriched with minerals from numerous layers of the earth. In Leukerbad alone, 3.9 million litres of thermal water bubble up daily from 65 springs, making it the largest deposit in Europe. Even the Romans knew about the healing power and beneficial effects of “blue gold” – a knowledge that has developed into a wellness trend. It has also had a significant impact on tourism. Today, thermal baths in the Valais are popular oases of well-being that refresh body and soul. Featuring temperatures of up to 44 degrees Celsius, the water strengthens the muscles, improves synovial fluid and alleviates various chronic illnesses. Not to mention the view of the impressive mountain scenery, which also plays its part!
