Considerable differences in altitude, narrow ridges, imposing gorges, historic cols: no matter which route you choose, the panoramic views are sure to take your breath away. What better way to escape than at the heart of this Alpine paradise? With a little luck, you might be accompanied along the way by the discreet presence of ibex or deer – or even a golden eagle. Succumb to all the charm of a mountain hike in the land of four-thousanders.
The Augstbordhorn Tour is one of contrasts – with rural, agricultural nature between Embd and Oberems and wildly romantic features, comprising the Turtmann valley and Augstbordpass. This tour is easily accomplished from May to early November, and thanks to possibilities of doing it in short legs, an ideal experience for families. The crossing of the Augstbordpass, as the 2,894 metres in height, is undoubtedly the most demanding leg of the tour, which should not be underestimated! Those who love varied panoramas are exactly in the right spot here – with views of the Turtmanntal mountains, Mischabel chain, the almighty Bietschhorn and plenty more to delight the eye.
Duration of hike: 5-6 days
