Description

The starting point for this route is Gampel, from where a cable car takes you in 10 minutes to the village of Jeizinen. Begin with a demanding climb of around 800 metres, then continue on a gentle slope on an asphalt road to Untere Feselalp, where you can top up your energy at the "Trächu Hittu" alpine restaurant. Continue your ascent and cross Obere Feselalp to the highest point of the route, the famous "Heruhubel". The second part of this tour begins at the foot of the "Einig Alichji" and consists of a varied descent to the Rhone valley. Initially quite simple and with only a gentle incline, the route becomes steeper and more demanding, with a mixture of fluid and technical singletracks. Cross the two Meiggu mountain pastures and various mountain villages to Niedergampel. Not only will you enjoy the variety of trails, but also the view of the Lötschental and the majestic 4,000m alpine peaks.

Our favorites

Our favorite itineraries are part of a selection of the best routes in the region and are proposed by Valais/Wallis Promotion to best meet the expectations of our guests.

Turn-by-turn directions

The route begins with a cable car ride from Gampel to Jeizinen. This is followed by an ascent of around 800 metres to Untere and then Obere Feselalp, before giving way to a single trail to "Heruhubel". Shortly after this comes the highest point of your route, at 2,311 metres above sea level. Start a smooth descent on a singletrack to the Oberi Meiggu mountain pasture. This is followed by a slightly steeper and technically demanding section before a short break on the forest road to the Underi Meiggu mountain pasture. The path then continues towards "Arblöuwinu" and on to Jeizinen. The last section, between Erschmatt and Niedergampel, features various passages filled with stones and rocks as well as some beautiful curves. Finally, there are various flowing and winding sections on the way to Niedergampel, before riding quietly along the main road back to Gampel.
