Discover the sights of Brig-Glis and Naters during a round trip on the Little Simplon Express. On the half-hour journey through the old town of Brig and the old village of Naters, learn lots of exciting and historical facts about the region. Discover the cosy alleyways and beautiful patrician houses of the old town of Brig during the trip. Cross the town square in Brig with the Chavez fountain, a memorial to the Peruvian Geo Chavez, who was the first person to fly over the Alps from Ried-Brig to Domodossola in an aeroplane in 1910. Marvel at the imposing Stockalper Castle, the landmark of Brig, which was built in the 1950s and 1970s by Kaspar Stockalper vom Thurm. Take the Rottenbrücke bridge to Naters, the largest and oldest village in Upper Valais. There you can admire the old part of the village with the pretty parish church, the ossuary and the Judengasse with its legendary paintings by Marcel Eyer. On the way back, you will pass the WNF, the World Nature Forum, the visitor centre of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau Aletsch. Via the lively Bahnhofstrasse in Brig, you return to the starting point, the town square in Brig. The audio tape is only played in German.
