Riederalp - Aletschgletscher - Riederalp

Cable car ride to Moosfluh and from here through the Aletsch Forest to the “Katzenlöcher” where the glacier experience begins. During this well secured two-hour hike, you'll learn some fascinating facts about the 20 km-long Great Aletsch Glacier and its history. Return via Moosfluh to Riederalp (up to you whether you go by cable car or on foot).

Dates: always on a Wednesday

Duration: total approximate walking time six hours (approx. two-hours on the Aletsch Glacier)

Meeting point: 9:15 am at the Moosfluh valley station, Riederalp

Guide: Martin Nellen, qualified mountain guide

Number of participants: min. 6 people

Suitable for: minimum age 8 years

Requirements: sure-footedness, no mountaineering experience required, 1 pole recommended, trekking or hiking shoes (good grip), hat, jacket, sunglasses, packed lunch and drinks; shorts are unsuitable on the glacier (wind)
