Museum and St. Bernard Dogs
In 2005, Bernard and Caroline de Watteville created the foundation that is named after them with the aim of transforming the old military arsenal into a tourist attraction devoted to the charged story of the Great St. Bernard and its legendary dogs. The entire project was conceived and planned by Leonard Gianadda. Located in the former arsenal next to a Roman amphitheatre, this stimulating museum displays artworks and articles from the history of the hospice and Great St. Bernard Pass. Temporary exhibitions are also organised. The dog kennel and the St. Bernard care area are located on the ground floor. The boxes are linked to an outdoor enclosure in the park, where visitors can watch the dogs playing.
