Valais: panoramic snowshoe walk Starting point for this snowshoe walk is Blatten bei Naters. Between the hamlet of Rischinen and Aletschbord, especially, the walk promises a magnificent experience of the pristine natural landscape. From Rischinen (also known as Rischinu), the trail leads via Egga to Holzji, whose nature observation station offers a chance to spot local wildlife. The route continues through the snow-blanketed forest to a clearing, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Great Aletsch Glacier. Continue along the trail to your destination, Aletschbord, for panoramic views of the Valais mountains and the mightiest river of ice in the Alps. At the historical Hotel Belalp, you can pause for a bite and a drink to fortify yourself for the return leg. This leads via the panoramic road from Aletschbord to the cable-car station in 30 minutes.
