Visp - Zermatt - Scenic & side valleys
Starting out from Visp, you follow the same road that leads to Saas-Fee as far as the crossroads at the exit to the village of Stalden. Then, head in the direction of Sankt Niklaus, Randa and Täsch. From here on, the road is closed to motorised traffic as far as Zermatt.

Starting out from Visp, the first few kilometres of the route are fairly gentle and let you get warmed up before the real ascent, which starts shortly before you reach the village of Stalden. You then turn off to the right in the direction of Zermatt, leaving the valley leading to Saas-Fee on your left. The kilometres that follow take you through the villages of the Mattertal: Stock, Bifig, Breitmatten and Täsch. The peace and quiet of the last few kilometres between Täsch and Zermatt give you the chance to admire the exceptional natural environment around you. The ultimate reward for your efforts? Stunning views of the famous Matterhorn on arrival in Zermatt.
