Description

Starting from Vionnaz, set off on your climb in the direction of Torgon through the vineyards. Continue your ascent with several hairpin bends alongside open meadows before coming to a shadier section on the edge of the forest. At 12.8 kilometres long with an ascent of 760 metres, this route provides a steady climb with a moderate gradient between Vionnaz and Reveleuraz. A short downhill stretch lets you catch your breath before a steeper section takes you to the village of Torgon, offering a sublime panorama of the Vaud Alps and Lake Geneva. Continue along a gentler slope as you leave Torgon, where the route takes a detour via the La Jorette complex – the location of the finish line for the Tour de Romandie’s mountain stage in 2019. Return to the valley along the same route in the opposite direction.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the centre of Vionnaz village, set off in the direction of Torgon, a mountain village culminating at 1,100 metres in altitude which forms part of the Portes du Soleil ski area. This quiet road climbs quickly with a succession of hairpin bends through the heart of a pretty forest dotted with clearings. After passing through the hamlet of Revereulaz, there is a short downhill section before you continue your climb towards Torgon village. A gentler slope covers the last two kilometres along the side of the valley before you cross the Avançon River to reach the La Jorette complex – the setting of the finish line for the Tour de Romandie’s mountain stage in 2019. From here, turn around and head back to the valley along the same route to finish your tour in Vionnaz.
