During the climb up above Reckingen, our efforts will be rewarded by sweeping views of Blinnental and Bächital, the Weisshorn, the Matterhorn and the Galenstock, and the Rhône Valley. Once we’ve reached the Galmihorn hut, we will relax and recuperate before beginning the descent.

Turn-by-turn directions

We will start by passing through the village of Reckingen-Gluringen and then find ourselves on a winding asphalt road that soon turns into a smaller path. On our way up we will need to climb a good 1,100 metres, but the path is very smooth and pleasant to ride on. After around 12.5km, we will reach the highest point of our tour at an altitude of 2,396 metres.

By then we will have earned ourselves a break as well as a visit to the Galmihorn hut, which is reached by a rapid singeltrail. After the hut, the trail then joins a wider path that will take us back into the valley via long winding roads.
