
The Valais celebrates Switzerland
The first day of August officially marks Swiss National Day. A day where the whole of Switzerland celebrates the birth of the confederation in 1291, with special events and official speeches. In Valais, 1 August will be celebrated in the heart of nature. From the Rhône Glacier to Lake Geneva, the towns and villages of Valais have dreamed up a whole host of events to mark the occasion.
