Original indoor activities

Valais enjoys more than 2,000 hours of sunshine a year. But occasionally the sun proves shy and the weather unsettled.

Swimming pools, escape rooms, museums, skydiving or golf simulators, trampolines, indoor spaces for skateboarding or BMX, climbing walls: we have a vast selection of indoor activities that you can enjoy whatever the conditions outside. You almost wish the bad weather would last longer!

World of the Great Aletsch Glacier, Bettmerhorn

The Great Aletsch Glacier is the longest in the Alps, framed by the most beautiful 4,000-metre peaks of Valais. Discover the secrets of this mighty river of ice at a fascinating multimedia exhibition dedicated to this wonder of nature at the heart of the Alps. Young visitors can pick up a copy of an expedition notebook containing entertaining puzzles and follow the trail of a missing professor as they explore and make exciting discoveries.

Aquaparc

Fun and thrills for action-seekers, leisure and relaxation for those who need it: a delightful escape that offers the chance to recharge your batteries or empty them completely as you brave the giant water slides and wave pool. Located beside Lake Geneva, Aquaparc and its different theme zones promise a break with a Caribbean touch for all the family.

Station Ritz Niederwald

At the « Station Ritz » in Niederwald, you can learn more about his life and work, which was marked by genius and tragedy in equal measure.

Alaia

In the heart of Valais, explore a cutting-edge action sports centre with a spectacular mountain backdrop. Skateboarders, BMX and scooter enthusiasts will find features to rival the famous bowls of California – and you can practise your ski and snowboard tricks, too. Whatever you’re into, set your sights high – and that goes especially for the trampoline zone!

Barryland

A former arsenal, converted into a living museum, presents the stories and legends surrounding the hospice at the Great St Bernard Pass with its famous dogs. There are representatives of this iconic breed here every day, and visitors can stroke them and watch them playing and romping around together freely. The museum was created by the Fondation Barry, established to run the world’s oldest breeding kennels for Switzerland’s national dog. During your visit, find about the most famous St Bernard of all: the legendary Barry, who rescued more than 40 people over the course of his life.

Escape World in Vernayaz

The former military fortresses in Vernayaz now house a thrilling attraction: an escape room with a difference, which tests nerves to the limit. Participants need to stay calm, think creatively and collaborate in order to succeed. Two adventure themes are possible – along with the option of escaping the site by abseiling from a bridge inside the Trient gorges.
