A true paradise for outdoor activities with nearly 9,000 km of hiking trails, more than 4,300 km of routes for two-wheelers and nine spas, Valais is a prime destination for lovers of the outdoors, relaxation and regional specialities. The Rhône plain, bathed in sunshine, is perfect for activities at the foot of the peaks, while higher up, there's nothing too beat the breathtaking panoramic views. In addition, from 30 August to 14 September, 2025, the canton will play host to the prestigious UCI Mountain Bike World Championships 2025, during which athletes and spectators will gather in the host destinations of this major event. Crans-Montana (Cross-Country), Région Dents du Midi (Downhill), the Aletsch Arena (Enduro, E-Enduro et E-Mountain Bike Cross- Country), Verbier and Val d'Anniviers (Marathon), Monthey (Pumptrack) and Zermatt (Short Track) will in turn become the mountain bike capitals of the world in each of these championships' seven disciplines.
