Cow Battle schedule

As winter fades, the reign of the queens begins in Valais.

Full of energy and determination, the Hérens cows leave their stables in spring to establish the hierarchy within the herd. From the end of March, they compete in regional qualifiers before the new queen is crowned in May at the National Final in the Praz Bardy Arena in Sion. In mid-June, the contests continue on the summer pastures, where the cows establish their natural hierarchy during the alpine ascent – an impressive spectacle that reaches another peak with the summer tournaments. Autumn marks the start of a new season, with regional qualifiers offering another chance to secure a spot in the grand final.
