Length

Description

The starting point of the winter hike is the old valley station of the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable cars, which you reach via a short climb. From there, follow the Bregeraweg, which is slightly elevated and runs parallel to the glacier stream Wysswasser towards Fieschertal. Repeatedly enjoy beautiful views of Fiesch through the snow-covered forest on this section of the path. The last part of the route leads through open terrain: over Hämischbode and the hamlet of Wichel, you reach the village square of Fieschertal. The return route to Fiesch goes via the Rollstuhlweg on the opposite bank of the Wysswasser. Bizarre frozen river sections, trees, and shrubs make this section along the water particularly impressive. Before you reach Fiesch, you pass the Fieschertal playground, the Blätz children's ski lift, and the viaduct of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway. Alternatively, you can also use the sport or post bus from Fieschertal for the return trip to Fiesch.
