Description

The trail begins in the glacier village of Saas-Fee and leads from the post bus station down to the panoramic bridge that crosses a deep gorge. After the bridge and a short stretch straight ahead, a forest path branches off to the left. This leads slightly uphill to the Grundbiel, from where you have a beautiful view of Saas-Fee and the surrounding mountains.

From here, the trail continues gently downhill through the forest towards Saas-Almagell. After just over a kilometre, you pass the Waldhüs Bodmen. Built in 1773 from larch trunks, the inn has a large terrace and is home to a small animal zoo. From here, the route continues through the forest, always slightly downhill. At Ze Ruffinu, the forest reveals the destination of this tour: Saas-Almagell, the rearmost and smallest of the four Saas villages.
