Description

The themed trail starts at the top of the village and offers the opportunity to better understand the behavior of our wild animals in winter and their tracks. Information boards along the path provide interesting facts about various native species. Hike through beautiful winter landscapes and leave your own typical tracks. An ideal circular route for the family.

Turn-by-turn directions

In the village center, take the turnoff towards Bodma, from there hike to Bodma. The path is quite flat and therefore easy to hike in both directions. Along the winter hiking trail, you will find numerous information boards providing details about the local wildlife. Safety information

The use of winter hiking trails and information on this website is at your own risk. Conditions on site may cause changes to the route. Valais/Wallis Promotion takes no responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the information on this website.

  • Carry a map with you. Download the full description of the hiking trail along with a large-scale map by clicking "Print" at the top right of the page.
  • Use only marked hiking trails and follow all signposts and instructions – for your own safety, to protect farm animals, and to avoid disturbing wildlife.
  • Be considerate of other trail users and the environment. Take your waste and any other litter with you.
  • Carry additional sun protection. UV rays at high altitudes can be very strong, especially in winter, even when it is cloudy.
  • Plan your hike carefully: consider the required fitness of all participants, weather forecasts, and seasonal conditions.
  • Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Appropriate clothing and enough provisions (food and drink) are very important. In unstable weather, it is better to turn back early.
  • Do not venture onto glaciers without a mountain guide.
  • Observe warning signs indicating dangers, especially avalanche risk.
  • Inform third parties about your route and, if possible, never go alone.
