Follow the “Panoramaweg” (panorama route) markings towards Bord up to Gebidum Pass. From there, it is about 40 minutes to the Gebidum viewpoint with its fantastic 360° panorama of fourteen 4000-meter peaks, including the Matterhorn.

Turn-by-turn directions

Between the ski lift and the mountain restaurant Giw begins the snowshoe trail to the Gebidum viewpoint. After this ascent, you are now at the height of Lake Gebidum and the Gebidum Pass. You continue hiking north towards the Gebidum viewpoint and enjoy the tranquility and the unique mountain panorama that unfolds before you. The highest point has thus been reached. • Carry a map with you. Download the full description of the hiking trail including a large-scale map by clicking “Print” at the top right of the page.
  • Use only marked hiking trails and follow all signs and instructions – for your own safety, to protect livestock, and not to disturb the peace of wildlife.
  • Be considerate of other trail users and the landscape. Take your waste and that of others with you.
  • Carry additional sun protection. UV rays at high altitudes can be particularly strong, even in winter and on cloudy days.
  • Plan your hike carefully: consider the required fitness of all participants, weather forecasts, and seasonal influences.
  • Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly without warning. Appropriate clothing and sufficient provisions (food and drink) are very important. In unstable weather, it is better to turn back early.
  • Do not go onto glaciers without a mountain guide.
