Description

This trail takes you along the Bavon ridge, above the hamlet of Vichères, in the heart of the Liddes commune.

Straddling the Grand-Saint-Bernard valley and the Val Ferret, you will enjoy generous sunshine and a 360° view between the Combins and Dolent massifs, on the Franco-Italian-Swiss border. A welcome stop at the "Bar des Neiges" after the first major climb will let you rest and admire these imposing mountains.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the ski lifts parking lot, follow the Bavon road north. At the 180° bend of the piste, leave the groomed road and continue north until the end of the forest road.

The trail then climbs through the forest southwest towards "Plan Beu - Plan Monnay - Bavon". Once at Plan Monnay, follow the south direction and rejoin the groomed piste with a slight descent to the "Bar des Neiges".

Pass to the left of the surface lift and follow the piste with a slight ascent to the chairlift, then go down to the "La Chaux - Chapelet" crossing.

Leave the piste and continue your descent towards the forest. At its edge, head north towards "Les Torrents", then zigzag to the "Dzayo" chalets and continue north to pass under the chairlift and reach the Chapelet parking lot.
