1. Grimentz: Montagnette Route

Grimentz

This mid-altitude trail offers an immersion in the forest, with views of St-Luc and Chandolin on the way out, and a more "mountainous" panorama on the way back, with the 4000-meter peaks in the background.

Description

The Pierre d'Avoin, the Tsougdires, the Luisannes, L'Irette, Orzival... these place names, inherited from the patois, are an invitation to discover Grimentz and its small mayens from another perspective. This 8-kilometer loop route first crosses the village, then stretches through the forest up to the Torrent des Moulins. The return offers a beautiful view of the valley floor, always within the hushed atmosphere of the Anniviers forest.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the departures lift station, follow the road leading to the upper part of the village of Grimentz. Take the path that goes off to the left and climbs up to the Pierre d'Avoin. Continue along this path until the crossing of the Tsougdires forest road. Continue on the forest road. After a few kilometers, take the path that goes down to the right, which passes by the mayens of Pramprilett, then the Ziettes and which allows joining the cross-country ski trail. Return to Grimentz via this forest road.
