Region Dents du Midi - Portes du Soleil - Area Champéry
The mountain village of Champéry, nestled between the Dents du Midi and the Dents Blanches, is an ideal starting point for numerous winter sports. Within five minutes the cable car of Champéry - Croix-de-Culet or the 6-seater chairlift of Grand-Paradis takes guests to the "Portes du Soleil" ski area. A snowpark meets the needs of freestylers. A highlight of the ski resort is the run at Pas de Chavanette, often simply called "Le Mur Suisse" (the Swiss Wall) – it is one of the steepest in the world. Within a single kilometre the descent drops nearly 400 metres, with gradients of up to 50 degrees.
