Description

Starting from Evolène, this classic or skating-style loop explores the alluvial plain that stretches for five kilometres to the village of Les Haudères with its Nordic atmosphere.

The trail follows the river, passes through forests and snow-covered meadows, and as close as possible to villages typical the valley. The entire route provides a clear view of the majestic Dents de Veisivis, with the cafes and restaurants located near the trail offering different options for taking a break.

The route includes both an easier version accessible to beginners (blue trail) and a more technical version (black trail), bothsignposted throughout.

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting from Evolène, set off on the "Canada Loop," an easy section ideal for warming up muscles. Cross the river towards "Lotrec" and follow the river for four kilometres until the village of Les Haudères.

Upon arriving in Les Haudères, return to the right bank of the river and climb close to the village until reaching the Nordic Arena area.

After this, continue towards Evolène, first near the village and then, after a slightly more technical descent, following the river again.

A final climb leads to the plateau of "La Fauchère." All that remains is to glide back to the starting point, enjoying the view of the beautiful village of Evolène.
