Description

Nestled in a fairy-tale landscape, this Champéry cross-country ski circuit winds through snow-covered spruce forests just 2 km from Champéry.

The circuit is comprised of three adjacent loops. The first, 'Grand-Paradis' is ideal for beginners as it is almost completely flat. The second loop, 'Les Couailles', has a small incline. The third loop, ‘Les Planchamps’, is the most technical, with a downhill slope followed by a turn.

The cumulated length of the three loops is approximately 4.3 km with about 90 m D+.

Depending on snow conditions, the loops will be groomed for classic and skating. Also, the first loop may be open, even if the second or third loops are closed. Please consult the snow report for more information.

The first two loops form a 2.4-kilometre circuit, lit for night skiing every evening until 9 pm.

A cross-country ski pass is available for purchase from the Palladium sports centre. Equipment can be rented from local sports shops.

Turn-by-turn directions

The starting point is located behind the Grand-Paradis picnic shelter. Follow the turquoise markings of Romandie Ski de Fond to start the first loop.

Head to the right, go around the large field, and return around the Alpes'Huskies chalet.

To reach the second loop, cross the forest to a new clearing. After a slight slope, follow the track to the left and run alongside the river in a straight line.

To stay on the first two loops, enter the forest on the left to return to the clearing by a path in the shape of an "S". A slight straight descent leads back to your starting point.

To climb to the third loop of Les Planchamps, which is a bit more technical, cross the bridge over the river and climb through fields towards Les Rives. After some switchbacks, the route descends to the forest edge with a wide bend and joins the clearing of the second loop.
