Description

This stage is the easiest section of the Valais Velo Tour in terms of topography. Most of the route from Oberwald to Brig goes downhill. Along the entire track through the Goms, one typical Valais village follows another. Just a few kilometers from Oberwald, the Rhone originates from the Rhone glacier, which you will be able to see repeatedly on the way to Brig.

Turn-by-turn directions

This scenic stage starts at the top in Goms and goes down to Brig. With a bit of luck, you might catch a glimpse of one of the typical Valais animals, such as the black-nosed sheep or the black-necked goat. Another highlight is the section that passes through the village of Mund. Mund is located above the Rhone valley and is known for its saffron. Finally, you can be captivated by Stockalp Castle in Brig with its impressive history, architecture, and baroque garden. This stretch of the route is sure to surprise you!
