This stage is the least difficult of the Valais Cycling Tour: most of the route is downhill. Starting from Goms, you will discover the unique atmosphere of the Haut Valais villages scattered along the roadside. The route leads to Brig along the young and vibrant Rhone river, born just a few kilometres upstream at the Furka glacier.
Turn-by-turn directions
This stage from Goms Valley to the town of Brig is certainly worth the trip. You could encounter some emblematic animals of the Valais, like the Valais Blacknosed sheep, or the Valais Blackneck goats. Another highlight: the route passes through the village of Mund, famous for its cultivation of saffron. Finally, the Stockalper Palace in Brig will impress you with its history, architecture, and baroque garden. This gentle stage is full of surprises!
