Description
Upon leaving Crans-Montana, you face a 400-meter climb, rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. A long descent finally takes you to Sierre before you continue towards the wine villages of Salgesch and Varen. Down in Leuk, you get onto the main road that leads into the Rhône Valley. With steady pedaling, you then reach the village of Leukerbad, known for its thermal baths.
Turn-by-turn directions
Starting from the center of Crans-Montana, head east and first climb over Les Barzettes to Plumachit. Then ride through the villages of Aminona, Mollens, Venthône, and Veyras down to Sierre. From Sierre, pedal further towards Salgesch, turn onto Varenstrasse at the village exit, and reach Varen through beautiful vineyards. After the village, a short descent leads to Leuk. You bypass the town and continue on the main road to Rumeling and Inden. At the entrance to Leukerbad, go straight through the roundabout to get to the center.

Public transport
You can reach the starting point by funicular, post bus, or bus connection from Siders to Crans-Montana. From Siders station, follow the red markings on the ground to reach the funicular.
Approach
A9 motorway exit Sierre-Ouest, continue on the cantonal road to the 'Centre Sportif la Moubra' in Crans-Montana.
Parking
Since this route is part of a stage tour and the start location differs from the end location, we recommend arriving at the starting point by public transport. For this purpose, SBB parking lots in Siders (Plaine Bellevue) or Leuk can be used. Parking is also available in Crans-Montana. Follow the local parking guidance system for this.
