Description

The town of Sierre was built around its historic districts, closely linked to the transhumance of the people of the Val d'Anniviers. This tour allows you to discover these little village jewels enclosed within the city, while passing through magnificent natural areas such as Lake Géronde and the vineyards overlooking the plain. A simple tour of Sierre's rich heritage and natural beauty.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the south of Sierre station (Plaine Bellevue), leave the town centre to enter a bubble of tranquillity on the shores of Lake Géronde, then along the banks of the Rhône. Then head up towards the Villa district, famous for the castle of the same name and the wine museum it houses. The vineyard route is an easy way of getting to Veyras, a favouritehaunt of artists such as Rainer Maria Rilke, Charles Clos Olsommer and Corinna Bille. This is followed by a beautiful descent through the historic districts of Muraz and Glarey, before reaching the station via Rue du Bourg, the historic heart of the town.
