Description

The city of Sierre was built around its historic districts, closely linked to the transhumance of the populations from the Val d’Anniviers. This route allows you to discover these small village gems embedded within the city, while crossing magnificent natural areas such as Lake Géronde or the vineyards overlooking the plain. A straightforward outing through the heritage and natural riches of Sierre.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the south of Sierre station (Plaine Bellevue), leave the city center to enter a bubble of tranquility near Lake Géronde, then along the banks of the Rhône. Then head up towards the Villa district, famous for the castle of the same name and the wine museum it houses. By taking the vineyard route, you will then easily arrive at Veyras, a favored place of artists such as Rainer Maria Rilke, Charles Clos Olsommer, and Corinna Bille. A beautiful descent then awaits you, through the historic districts of Muraz and Glarey, before joining the station via Rue du Bourg, the historic heart of the city.
