Description

You start in Vollèges in the Val de Bagnes and follow the road over the alpine pastures towards the summit of Pierre Avoi. For 11.2 kilometers, the path ascends steadily and ends at 1686 meters altitude. The special feature of this pass is that the ascent on the last part of the route runs on a natural road. Along the way, you have a unique view of the surrounding panorama with peaks like Catogne, Tête de la Payanne, and Mont Rogneux.

Turn-by-turn directions

A stele in the center of Vollèges marks the start of the ascent. The signs of the Valais cycling route marking show you the way to Cries and Levron. Turn right 4.2 kilometers below the pass summit and follow the road to Col du Lein. The last kilometers are unpaved but still passable with a road bike.
