At Col de Champoussin you can discover the Vallée d’Illiez in the Valais Chablais. You first ride up the Vièze river on the right bank to Troistorrents. From there it continues on the left bank. Admire this extraordinary valley embedded between the Dents du Midi and the Dents Blanches in the aptly named Portes du Soleil region. In Val d’Illiez, the route leaves the main road and turns into the pass road below the Pointe des Mossettes. Beautiful views in sight!
Turn-by-turn directions
The route starts on the right valley bank up to Troistorrents, from where the road crosses the Vièze and leads you to the opposite side of the valley. From Val d’Illiez, the road becomes narrower and steeper as it winds through pastures towards Crosets and Champoussin. Upon reaching the pass summit, you definitely have to take a look at Mont Ruan before heading down through the village of Champoussin.
