The Jorette footbridge

With a height of 28 metres and a length of 150 metres, the Jorette footbridge in the resort of Torgon is easily the most accessible in Valais. Both ends of the bridge lie close to a road, so it is possible to enjoy the thrill of a walk across the void without having to hike several hours to get there. As you cross, you brush the treetops of larches and giant conifers – and enjoy giddy views down to the Avançon, the river that twists along the bottom of the ravine.
