Footbridges of the Bisse du Torrent Neuf

Hikers following the course of the Bisse du Torrent Neuf, a historical irrigation channel near Savièse, encounter a sequence of suspension footbridges: 4 in all. These allow walkers to bypass the vertiginous path along the mountainside where the channel originally passed. Constructed from 1430, the “bisse” carried water from the river Morge to the hillsides around Savièse.
