Pumptracks and skills parks

Throughout Switzerland, pumptracks and skills parks have been experiencing a boom for some time now. And Valais is no exception with plenty of circuits.

A pumptrack is a mountain-bike trail up to two metres wide consisting of dirt rollers and banked turns. These rollers are used to generate speed through rhythmical movements, so that the entire circuit can be ridden as often as you like without pedalling. Skills parks are areas dedicated to learning and practising mountain biking techniques. They allow users to familiarise themselves with the sport in a fun way through the use of obstacles and modules.
