Description

Departing from the top of Bendolla cable car in Grimentz, head up to the heights towards Chiesso Blanc, below the slopes of Orzival. You can also start the tour directly at the start station and cover the 5.3 kilometres and 530 meters of elevation gain with pure muscle power. After a panoramic crossing towards Tracui, continue down the Vercorin slope to enjoy a fun flow trail studded with jumps and banked turns. Vercorin exudes alpine charm before a gentle descent to Chippis, between forests and open landscapes. In the valley, a stop at Lake Géronde, a haven of freshness in the heart of Sierre, is a must, before ending your stage at the station, after this exceptional discovery of peaks, forests and authentic villages in Valais.

Our favorites

Our favorite itineraries are part of a selection of the best routes in the region and are proposed by Valais/Wallis Promotion to best meet the expectations of our guests.

Turn-by-turn directions

From Bendolla, follow the Route d'Avoin north-east and take the path leading north from the hairpin bend (point 2052). Pass the Chiesso Blanc mountain pasture before taking a forest path, then cross the Mayoux river and take the lower path to traverse the Orzival valley. Back in the forest, continue along the path to the mountain pasture and the Tracui huts. From there, the route heads west to join the flow trail which descends to Vercorin below the Crêt du Midi cable cars. Once in the village, cross it and take the path that descends to the west. Start heading to the north-east until you reach the bisse and take the path directly opposite. On the road to Vercorin, descend 50 metres, then turn right and continue to Chippis, where you will head north to cross the Rhône. At the roundabout, take the first exit, then the second road on the left to reach a large park. Follow the Lac de Géronde, then finish your adventure by following the signs to the car park at Sierre station.
