Difficulty

Intermediate

Length

25.26 km

Duration

2:20 h

Description

From the summit of the Bendolla cable car in Grimentz, head up towards Chiesso Blanc, under the slopes of Orzival. You can also start your outing from the base station and climb by the strength of your calves over a distance of 5.3 km and 530 meters of positive elevation gain. After a panoramic crossing to Tracui, plunge down the Vercorin slope to enjoy a fun flowtrail, punctuated with jumps and berms. The Alpine charm operates in Vercorin, before a gentle descent to Chippis, between forests and open landscapes. In the plain, a stop at Lake Géronde is a must, a refreshing haven in the heart of Sierre, before finishing your stage at the station, after an immersion between peaks, forests and authentic villages of Valais.

Our favorites

Our favorite itineraries are part of a selection of the best routes in the region and are proposed by Valais/Wallis Promotion to best meet the expectations of our guests.

Turn-by-turn directions

From Bendolla, follow the Route d’Avoin towards the northeast and take the path starting north of the hairpin (point 2052). Pass in front of the Chiesso Blanc alpine pasture before taking a forest path, then cross the Mayoux stream and take the lower trail to cross the Orzival hollow. In the forest again, continue your path to the alpine pasture and the Tracui cabins. From there, the route heads west to join the flowtrail under the Crêt du Midi cable cars, which descends to Vercorin. Once in the village, cross it to take the path descending westward. Begin the crossing towards the northeast to the Bisse and take the path directly opposite. On the way to Vercorin, descend 50 meters then turn right and continue to Chippis, where you will head north to cross the Rhône. At the roundabout, take the first exit, then the second road on the left to reach a large park. Follow the shore of Lake Géronde, then finish your adventure by following the signs to the Sierre train station parking lot.
