Torrenttrail Short

Leukerbad

Closed

For the "hasty" there is now the legendary Torrenttrail also in a short version. The fantastic panorama, the chic Alp Oberu, a playful forest and root trail, as well as the mountain villages of Guttet and Albinen are among the highlights.

Difficulty

Easy

Length

22.2 km

Duration

3:00 h

Description

Like the standard route, the short version of the Torrenttrail also starts at the Rinderhütte cable car station and leads to Alp Oberu. Enjoy the wide view and mountain idyll. From here, the Torrenttrail Short branches off and winds down a varied trail through the forest, about 600 meters descent, to Guttet. Over the high path you reach the rustic mountain village Albinen and back to Leukerbad.

Turn-by-turn directions

The path to Alp Oberu is on an easy, flowing trail without major difficulties - but with some uphill sections. From Alp Oberu the trail branches off and becomes steeper. It leads down a forest trail with some root sections to Guttet. From here, follow the high path on the gravel road to Albinen and then continue on the main road to Leukerbad. Immediately after the tunnel, it is advisable not to speed through, but to climb a few meters up to the natural path. It leads directly and without altitude loss into the village center of Leukerbad.

Author's recommendation

Take a detour through the mountain villages, to the rustic granaries and houses. It's worth it.
