Description
Take the cable car from Leukerbad (Leukerbad) to the Rinderhütte, the starting point of a singletrack featuring magnificent views of the Rhone valley and the surrounding 4,000-metre peaks. Your route is varied and offers descents into subalpine terrain below Schafberg, followed by short climbs. From Bachalp, bike through fragrant pine forests and admire the view from the Rhone plain to the Mont Blanc massif. Follow playful paths filled with natural obstacles that take you on a discovery of the Alps and idyllic mountain villages. Dating from the 1970s, the satellite dishes at Leuk have been the subject of many rumors about American espionage. Immerse yourself in the city's cultural and historical past and don't miss a visit to Leuk Castle, with its glass dome designed by the famous architect Mario Botta.

Turn-by-turn directions
The Torrent cable cars will take your mountain bike from Leukerbad to Rinderhütte, where your route begins. Set off on a singletrack with a magnificent view of the Rhone Valley and the 4000-metre peaks of the Valais, leading you first to Oberu and then to Bachalp. From there, you alternate between short ascents and descents as you ride along the edge of the forest to "Undri Fäsilalpu". You then descend a newly renovated singletrack on the fringes of the forest to Brentschen and pedal through pine forests to Feschel, before reaching an idyllic lake with a rest area in Guttet. The penultimate stage passes through the satellite dishes west of Thel, then you reach Leuk via a beautiful singletrack alongside the main road. Finally, make a last stop at one of the restaurants in Leuk's old town, before following the Veloland no. 72 "Chemin du Vignoble" cycle path to Susten railway station.

Take the train (SBB) to Leuk, then the bus (LLB) from Leuk station to Leukerbad, Albinen, Inden or Varen.
It is advisable to book your transport by 4pm the previous evening via resabike.
