Description

You can reach Rosswald comfortably by cable car from Ried-Brig. The mountain bike trail starts directly at the upper station. Turn right onto the gravel road leading downhill. After 200 metres, turn right and follow the trail until you reach the tarred road at Resti, which you cross and continue following the trail.

This mountain bike route takes you back to the bottom Rosswald cable car station, which will take you back up the mountain for a second lap, should you so wish.

Together with the Gantertal Trail, this varied trail, offers a successful day out mountain biking at Rosswald.

Our favorites

Our favorite itineraries are part of a selection of the best routes in the region and are proposed by Valais/Wallis Promotion to best meet the expectations of our guests.

Turn-by-turn directions

At the top station of the Rosswald cable car, get on your mountain bike and head directly west. After 200 metres, turn right onto the trail. Follow this route, cross the road and zigzag over the Rosswald ridge down to the Wiler Stückiegga. Here you'll reach the forest road, which you follow to Schallberg. Now the trail will lead to the road that runs parallel to the Simplon Pass road. Follow this road until you reach the junction with the old Napoleon road. A few metres after the wayside shrine, the trail branches off to the right. Follow the trail until you can see the lower station.
