Description

This loop starting from St-Romain passes through part of the Ayent pine forest. A beautiful route with some technical sections – perfect for mountain bikers looking for varied terrain.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the village center of Saint-Romain, follow the road toward Saxonne. At the end of the village, turn left onto Route de la Tuire to reach Botyre. Once you arrive at the main cantonal road, turn left, then shortly after turn right in the direction of Crans-Montana. As you leave Botyre, take the path on the right that descends into the forest.

Then turn left onto the forest road, which climbs back up to the main road. After passing a small industrial area, turn right onto the uphill trail and continue on Route de Bognou. After the Bognou farm, cross the Forniry stream and take the uphill path to the left, which leads you to Route des Jasses.

At Les Giettes, follow the old road to Anzère, then turn left onto a narrow trail along the hillside. Continue straight to reach Saxonne, then follow the road back down to Saint-Romain.
