Description

Short, enjoyable and varied, this mountain bike loop is ideal for discovering the quieter side of Crans-Montana, with its lakes and peaceful trails. From Lake Moubra, the route quickly reaches Montana before moving through a range of different settings, including calm lakeshores, small roads, woodland sections and residential areas. The lakes provide natural landmarks throughout the ride, from Moubra and Grenon to Chermignon and, finally, Miriouges, tucked away in the forest.

Despite its modest distance, the route offers plenty of variety in both terrain and scenery. Gentle climbs alternate with flowing descents and shady woodland sections, while a few passages require a little more concentration on the bike. It is an ideal loop for taking your time, enjoying the atmosphere of the Haut-Plateau and discovering a relaxed and accessible side of Crans-Montana.

Turn-by-turn directions

The ride starts on the shores of Lake Moubra. Leaving the water behind, the route gradually climbs towards Montana, with an opening section on the road that is ideal for warming up. It then passes close to Lake Grenon before continuing towards Lake Chermignon. Along the way, the resort atmosphere slowly gives way to quieter surroundings, with tree-lined tracks, scattered chalets and wooded areas.

After Lake Chermignon, the loop heads west and becomes increasingly peaceful. The route follows small roads and tracks through forest, clearings and residential neighbourhoods. It then descends gradually towards the Icogne area, combining local lanes with off-road tracks. Some sections can be narrow or covered with loose stones.

The route then turns east for the return journey through the forest. A steady climb leads towards Les Miriouges and its lake, before the trail gradually returns to Crans-Montana via the Family Forest Loop. This woodland circuit features several stations where riders can discover and practise different mountain biking skills. The loop eventually returns to Lake Moubra, the starting and finishing point of the ride.
