Description

It’s just a few minutes by cable car from Stalden to Staldenried, where the circuit tour begins with a climb to the hamlet of Riedji, covering around 500 altitude metres.  It’s worth taking a short break at this point to enjoy the view of the Augstbord region and the Bernese Alps, including the imposing Bietschhorn. Next, a wonderful single trail leads through the forest to Unnerbrunnu and on to Visperterminen. The village of Heida is home to Europe’s highest vineyard and offers a range of cultural experiences, as well as an impressive barn in the old village centre. The tour continues with a short descent to Niederhäusern. Bikers can then enjoy a simple, idyllic trail featuring a level section and a short, sharp climb followed by a descent to Staldenried. A flowing trail takes you from Staldenried to Neubrück. The final stretch of the route to Visp can be covered on the Zermatt–Visp connecting trail (No. 150).
