Description

With an early cable car, you go up to the Gemmi Pass. The view from the airy platform of the Gemmi Lodge allows your gaze to wander far over Leukerbad below you and over the four-thousand-meter peaks of Valais. The route starts in the middle of the mountain world and leads leisurely along a gravel and stone path along Lake Dauben to the historic Hotel Schwarenbach. From here, it continues to Spitellmatte up to the mountain station of the Sunnbühlbahn at Kandersteg.

Please adopt a particularly considerate riding style on this historic route, which is also popular with hikers, and take an early cable car.

Those who want to return to Leukerbad can do so on the same route or extend the route. The freeride trail to Kandersteg can also be completed with a normal mountain bike (if in doubt, take the cable car as a precaution). In Kandersteg, load your mountain bike onto the Lötschberger to Goppenstein. From there, a fast cycle path leads down to Gampel and from there to Leuk. It is also possible to make a further detour to Jeizinen and a great trail to Leuk...
