The route starts at the village square of Saas-Balen and leads over the alpine road past the alpine hamlets Grundbiele, Ze Flie, Matt, Hoferälpji up to the bridge of the Grüebe Alp. From here, the forest sections are over and you are in alpine nature.

The path curves slightly to the left past the barrier. Now follows the strenuous zigzag up to the top. At the fork at an altitude of 2,750 m above sea level, turn left and follow the path to the end.
