Description

The Bodmen forest path is a cozy and well-maintained path right through the larch forest between Saas-Almagell and Saas-Fee. Along the way, you come across the Waldhüs Bodmen restaurant, which wins the hearts of children with its petting zoo. Throughout the entire route, impressive views of Saas-Grund, the Saas Valley, and the Bietschhorn pyramid are offered.

The route is possible and recommended in both directions.

Public transport

Take the SBB to Visp and change there to the post bus towards Saas-Fee (Bus 511). In Saas-Grund at the Post stop, change to the post bus towards Saas-Almagell (Bus 513). Get off at the Dorfplatz stop.

Approach

By car, the Saas Valley is easily and conveniently accessible from all directions, whether from Switzerland or from abroad. From the north you reach us via Bern through the Lötschberg car shuttle. From the east you come via the Furka Pass or the Furka car shuttle. From the south we are accessible via the Simplon Pass or the Simplon car shuttle, and from the west you drive via Lausanne along the Rhone valley to Visp and from there towards Saas-Fee.

From Visp you drive south towards Saas-Fee. At the "Killerhof" roundabout near Stalden, take the second exit towards Saas-Fee. In Saas-Grund, after the church, turn left towards Saas-Almagell.
