Escape and set out to discover the natural richness of Crans-Montana by heading towards the Tièche Valley. While some sections are technical, this route remains accessible to all since it is mainly done on wide unpaved mountain paths. The magnificent panoramic views and the preserved nature of the Aminona region are undoubtedly the highlights of this excursion. Several refreshment stops offer food options and e-bike recharging on the way.

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting from the center of Montana, the route takes you towards Barzettes, then follows the Plumachit road towards the Hamlet of Colombire. You then leave the paved road to head towards the Cave Du Sex. 200m before the refreshment stop, the path turns left and you enter the wild Tièche valley. After a loop along this magnificent river, the route heads back towards the Prabaron alp, the Toula area, then offers a stop at the Violettes cabin, the highest point of this excursion. Then follows the descent through Cabane de Bois, Nationale, Marolires and Arnouva, finally reaching the Chermignon lake and returning to the resort through the center of Crans.

The Crans-Montana resort is accessible from the Sierre train station with the SMC bus company as well as from the Sion train station with the post buses.

The free shuttles of the SMC bus company serve the entire Crans-Montana resort. The closest stop to the start of the route is: Ycoor.

Approach

To reach Crans-Montana by car, take the A9 motorway (Rhône motorway) exit called "Sierre ouest." At the motorway exit, turn left and follow the signs indicating "Sierre." Upon arriving at the roundabout, turn right. Continue for 500 meters then at the entrance of Sierre, turn left towards "Crans-Montana." The driving time is about 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Crans-Montana, follow the signs to reach the Signal parking.
