Description

This action-packed, varied mountain bike route takes riders on a voyage of discovery of Crans-Montana’s sunny hillsides. From La Moubra, the route alternates between forest descents and rolling climbs through Montana Village and Chermignon-d'en-Bas, where beautiful views open onto the Rhône valley. It then crosses Lens with its typical setting before ascending along the edge of Lake Louché, then to the peaceful heights of Icogne. The route descends into the forest again by bypassing Crans to the south, joining the Family Forest Loop fitness course: a fun section with jumps, banked turns and balance modules. From there, the return proceeds gently towards Lake Moubra. Suitable for experienced cyclists, this well-rounded loop combines natural trails, paved sections and technical stretches, while offering an ideal opportunity to explore Crans-Montana’s charming hillsides.

Turn-by-turn directions

The route starts on the shores of Lake Moubra, at an altitude of 1,400 meters. The itinerary runs along the football field, passes under the arch marking the beginning of the Crans-Montana – Sierre flowtrail, then enters the forest.

A smooth singletrail descends southeast, winding between the trees. The descent continues to the outskirts of Montana Village, crossed from the east on more rideable sections.

After a short forest descent, the terrain gradually climbs towards Chermignon-d’en-Bas. The route passes through the Domaine de Revouir which marks the halfway point of the route.

The entrance to the village of Lens is via a small road leading to the heart of the village. A little further on, the road leads onto Chemin du Louché, which runs along the lake of the same name.

The trail then gently climbs above Icogne. A terrace trail then plunges into the forest, bypassing Crans to the south. Just before Lake Miriouges, the route turns west to cross the cantonal road and head back toward Moubra.

On this last section, the Family Forest Loop course encourages mountain bikers to improve their agility! The ideal terrain for having fun or perfecting your technique before returning to the shore of Lake Moubra.
